Deceased Stallion Program

Deceased Stallion Program

1. A deceased stallion must have been enrolled into the Homegrown Classic the year they passed to be eligible. IF A STALLION IS DECEASED AND DOES NOT FIT THAT CRITERIA THEY NEED TO ENROLL UNDER REGULAR ENROLLMENT.

2. The stallion must pay a discounted fee of $200 per year for their offspring to remain eligible to compete

3. Deceased stallions will not count towards the 65 stallion cap count UNLESS they are enrolling under regular enrollment terms and not the deceased stallion terms.

4. If a stallion is transferring from the regular stallion enrollment to the deceased stallion enrollment, their spot will open to the first person listed on the wait list. Spots may not be sold/traded/substituted or otherwise changed.

5. Deceased stallion enrollment fees will be added into side pot added money and prizes. It will not be added into the payout at The BLITZ as we want to keep a hard number for payout that does not change yearly.

6. A deceased stallion may drop or add this part of the program at any time.

7. Offspring are only eligible to run in the Homegrown when the stallion is paid in to the program for that year.

8. No offspring enrollment fees.

9. All deceased stallion offspring will run in either the appropriate futurity or open stallion incentive at The BLITZ. This is not a separate program.

10. A deceased stallion is still eligible for the stallion earnings that progeny may earn during the Blitz.

You can’t beat genetics like that and “HOC’s” offspring (#j_hoc) are proving it with over $100,000 in earning already.  With large foal crops hitting the ground every year and colts in all corners of the USA that number is certain to grow.  But more importantly, his foals have the versatility, strength, heart and ability to put in a long day’s work on the ranch when they aren’t competing.  And they last.  To top it off, they have a personality that is unrivaled – they love people and are as willing as the day is long.

Ninety Nine Goldmine (1997-2021)

1997 Brown Stallion by Strawfly Special X Birds Merry

“99” is an own son of Strawfly Special ~ sire of earners of over $22 million at the track. His dam is a direct daughter of Merridoc – another outstanding racehorse sire with 808 of his foals earning their racing ROM’s.

99 himself has a speed index of 90 and an LTE of $21,942 on the track. He has an incredible disposition, carries lots of bone and has good feet. An added bonus, he carries the unique rabicano color gene (coon tail, roan flank). What we like most about this stud is the quality of his foals!! He's been bred to a limited number of mares each year but owners are all saying the same things about his offspring: they are extremely willing, smart and athletic. Real "people" horses that hunt a barrel, float across the ground and look good doing it. They had tremendous success at the track - with all but two that went into race training being race winners. As far as the arena goes, his foals are turny and QUICK!
